10minutes2center is located in Bos en Lommer, in the old western part of Amsterdam. The name is derived from a farmhouse along the Sloterdijkermeerweg with that name that was demolished in 1940. The Sloterdijkermeerweg connected Sloterdijk with the Sloterdijkermeerpolder (now Sloterplas). In this place Bos en Lommerplein is located nowadays. The expansion "Bosch and Lommer" as on December 4, 1935 was approved by the city government and included the area between the Haarlemmerweg, the Admiraal de Ruijterweg, the Jan van Galenstraat and the Centuur spoorbaan. A residential area for 35,000 people. The construction of parks was a connection between the recreational areas such as Westerpark, Erasmus Park and the allotments and sports complexes. Many green areas were situated along open areas for schools and playgrounds. Bos en Lommer is by far the greenest district of Amsterdam.

Most houses were built in the 30s of the last century according to the "Amsterdamse School" style. The building style gives Bos en Lommer a nice, authentic and popular look.

Amsterdam bij nachtThe multicultural character of Amsterdam is also seen in Bos en Lommer. There are several small restaurants where you can relax and enjoy a bite to eat.

Bos en Lommer is just 10 minutes by bike from the Jordaan area. Cafes, the Westerkerk (where the famous Dutch painter Rembrandt is buried), the West Indian house, everything is within easy reach. Bos en Lommer is located near the Westerpark, the largest park in Amsterdam. Only 5 minutes by the bikes we offer you to use free of charge and you're surrounded by greenery and a swimming water for children. In Westerpark outdoor concerts are regularly organized with national and international artists. John Legend, Massive Attack and Radiohead already came here and in the summer of 2010 Faithless gave a big show there.
